Remember when I begrudged the lack of literary tack in my thus-far blog? No? That's ok. The important part is knowing when to do better. This article inspired me to do so, if only to avoid painful embarrassment and self-flaggellation later.

Now if only everyone did this we might be rid of telemarketers entirely.

Science news blitz today: Gila Monster spit may cure Alzheimer's disease, which may be caused by clumps of wrongly-folded proteins. Also, fungicides = bad for you. And orange juice even better for you than you previously thought.

Great. Now there are people who want to burn a book before it's ever published. And with all the fuss, they may change whether controversial books ever find publishers in the future.

Oh, and let's hope the future isn't really like this.

Furthermore, the Saltine Challenge amused me.

Also, an idea I'm going to have to come back to... After discussing what I'm doing here with a friend, he let me see the journal he keeps. Interestingly enough, his takes a much more literary tack. It's a quality that I had not seen in any other blog up until now, and it's one I hadn't considered. And as someone whose bachelor's degree in English focused on creative writing, that made for a pretty humbling moment or two while I read what he'd written. I'll have to see what I can do about being a little more interesting in that vein. Of course, the major problem with this concept is that blog entries aren't edited after they're posted (well, exceptions being made occasionally for spelling/grammar problems) whereas that type of writing usually benefits greatly from that old standby, revision. More thoughts on this later...
